Memorable Listowel Double for Eugene O'Sullivan and Cork Owners Tomas and Jack Singleton

The fortunes of Cork owners Tomas and Jack Singleton soared this week, capping an extraordinary seven days in National Hunt racing.

After Jesse Evans’ win at Ballinrobe, their Listowel Bank Holiday was marked by major triumphs with Bugs Moran and Themanintheanorak, both trained by Eugene O'Sullivan.

Eight-year-old Bugs Moran, guided by rising jockey Michael Kenneally, dominated the Beasley Engineering Hunters Chase from the front, building on his impressive Fairyhouse Grade B win earlier in the year.

Themanintheanorak followed, producing a stellar debut under Alan O'Sullivan, who competed fresh off the Cork City Marathon, storming home six lengths clear in the Bryan McMahon Bumper.

Additional Cork successes came from Paul Townend and Daniel King, making Listowel a showcase of local talent and ambition as the season builds excitement for future meetings.

Rite Aid's Echo Hollow Store in Eugene to Close Amid Bankruptcy Proceedings

The Echo Hollow Rite Aid store in Eugene is preparing to close, underscoring a major shift for local residents who rely on its pharmacy services.

This closure follows Rite Aid’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing and is part of a larger statewide downsizing that includes 12 Oregon stores, with more than 30 slated to close over time.

Pharmacy services at Echo Hollow have already ended, with all prescriptions being transferred to other Rite Aid locations or partner pharmacies to support affected customers.

The Coburg Road store in Eugene will also shut down, but the Woodfield Station and Marcola Road locations will remain open to serve the area.

Many in the community have voiced concern about losing a trusted neighborhood resource.

Local healthcare providers and pharmacies are stepping up to fill the service gap, and community meetings are planned to help residents adjust to the changes.
